Travelling in Jakarta

Have you ever been to Jakarta?

In these past few years, Jakarta has been growing very rapidly and there are a lot of historical and unique places spread all over Jakarta. Additionally, economic prices are the most influential thing that most of the tourists would spend a lot of time living in Jakarta. Let's start by defining what Jakarta means in my perspective as a person who lives in Jakarta. These are the three crucial points whenever you want to travel to Jakarta.

1. Foods

There are very wide range of foods that have been created by indonesian people. Firstly, the best rated food in jakarta is kerak telor. It is made by scrambled egg mixed with serundeng which is fried shredded coconut.

Secondly, nasi uduk, it is made by steamed rice cooked in coconut milk. The last but not least is nasi ulam, it is made by chayote soup with tofu and boiled eggs. These are the best rated foods around Jakarta and it is worth to try for every people who are travelling in Jakarta.

2.  Sites

There are a lot of various places which are very famous and unique around Jakarta. Firstly, the most popular place that everyone will visit while travelling in Jakarta is Monas. It is a tall building placed in central Jakarta, 32 metres tall building with a flame in the top covered by a gold foil. Secondly, TMII or what indonesian people called is Taman Mini Indonesia Indah. It is a theatre that shows unity and diversity which all the dancers show every dances and culture in Indonesia including the culture of Jakarta which is called Betawi. Thirdly, Kota Tua, this place is very famous that many tourists would like to visit this place, in English, Kota Tua means "Old City". It is named Kota Tua because this place has not been renovated yet since Holland invaded Indonesia. Now, Kota Tua is filled with toys' sellers, food trucks and bicycles which you can rent it to enjoy sightseeing near Kota Tua.

3. Transportation

In Indonesia, there are a lot of transportations that are very cheap even with a long distance trip. These are the transportations that tourists could use whenever they are in Jakarta. Kopaja, it is a bus that has the cheapest cost of transportation with a green and white coloured bus. It is a fixed cost of US 2 cents, wherever you go with a one-way trip only and it the payment is by cash. However, even though it is very cheap, it does not have an air conditioner and it is very dirty. Secondly, Transjakarta, it is a modern bus that has an air conditioner and the payment is very similar with buses in Australia which you can just tap it. Thirdly, Commuter Line or train. Most people would likely to use the train in Jakarta because the train is commonly for people who travel really far from the city to suburbs. It is very comfortable because it won't be unstable just like buses.

In Conclusion, These three are the most important foundation for people who want to go to Jakarta and it is very worth to try those foods. Have a nice weekend and enjoy your day!
